Stadium Review
Baltimore Ravens Stadium - Baltimore Ravens
I was in the D.C. area for the day and decided to visit M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD as well (see FedEx Field).  After a rather negative experience at FedEx Field, it was refreshing to be greeted by the more than accomodating M&T Bank Stadium staff.  So from Union Station in Washington, D.C. I took the MARC commuter train to Baltimore's Penn Station.  From Penn Station, I took the light rail to the Camden Yards station and walked from Camden Yards to M&T Bank Stadium, the home of the Baltimore Ravens.  Setting up my tripod again, I took multiple shots around the stadium, unaccosted by any stadium personnel.  Adjacent to the stadium stands a bronze statue of Baltimore Colt great, Johnny Unitas.  After posing for a few shots with Johnny U, I proceeded to meet with Phil Gentile of the Baltimore Ravens for a quick look inside.

M&T Bank Stadium is a very modern facility with Sportexe Momentum Turf and two SmartVision video screens, one in each endzone.  The Sportexe Momentum Turf has a special mix of sand and rubber infill between the polyethylene fiber simulated grass surface.  It provides a very fast and safe playing surface for college and pro stadiums.  I was assured that Baltimore Ravens fans are as rabid as the next and are great tailgaters.  On gameday, Baltimore Ravens fans come out in droves with barbecues and brews for the preparatory gameday experience.  One day it will have to include me as well.

The Baltimore Ravens faithful have prided themselves on the dominant defense the organization has fielded since their Super Bowl win in 2001, but over the last couple offseasons, along with making great defensive picks on draft day, the Baltimore Ravens have brought in some offensive fire power as well.  Tennessee Titan great Steve McNair rejoins Derrick Mason, as running back Willis McGahee was brought in to solidify the ground game to from a more potent offensive attack.  With a defense that continues to reload and the possible emergence of Mark Clayton at the wide receiver position, the Baltimore Ravens should be ready for another playoff season.  Baltimore Ravens merchandise should be flying off the shelves by the time September rolls around.

Getting to the Stadium:
There's plenty of parking in and around M&T Bank Stadium.  Your best bet is to to drive a car to the stadium on gameday.  Another option might be to take the MTA Maryland Light Rail and get off at the Hamburg Street Exit.

Where to Stay:
Find a hotel near the stadium, in the heart of the action. I would suggest checking out The Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace or the Radisson Plaza Lord.

M&T Bank Stadium is a great place to see a football game and if you care about stadium atmosphere, you have to visit this place on gameday. The fans are loud and very passionate about their Baltimore Ravens. It is really a sight to behold.  M&T Bank Stadium also has a very blue-collar fan base that knows how to create a raucous environment.  This is why Baltimore has the 2nd best home record in the NFL since the 2000 season.
