Race to 31 |
What is the Race to 31? We are interested in seeing other NFL fans as they race to 31. Register your race to 31, by sending your own pictures attending NFL games to INFOatNFLFOOTBALLSTADIUMSdotCOM (use the "@" and "."). We will track and monitor all registered parties by displaying your pictures and logging the number of stadiums you visit. Unless we can verify that you have attended the game, all stadium pictures should be taken from within each facility to qualify as a stadium visit. Please only send one picture per stadium - intended for average NFL fan use only. If you are affiliated with an NFL franchise or the media, you will be disqualified. |

Meet
the Racers... I am fascinated by those who pickup the torch, inspired by the game of professional football, and decide to Quest for 31 as I have. Taking into consideration the cost of travel, the challenge of finding cheap NFL tickets in stadiums around the league, and the thrill of planning a season long tear through the NFL across the nation, I thought it appropriate to recognize them for their achievement in a space of their own on the Quest for 31. The following is a brief introduction to each of these Questers. This is their story ... |

Jaime Taha -
Monterrey, Mexico Hi, my name is Jaime Taha, I'm from Monterrey, Mexico (a northern city, just 150 miles from border to US). I'm a Mechanical Engineer, working at the Applied Technology Center of PGE, and I'm also a professor at UdeM. I have been an NFL Fan since 1986-87, my favorite team is the San Francisco 49ers. I collect Jerry Rice' things too, like cards, helmets, etc. So far I have visited a few Stadiums, hoping this year I could increase the count by 2 or 3... I have plans to attend a Niners game at the Candlestick Park, an Indy game at Lucas Oil Stadium and maybe another one... Well, i knew Hans in the Cowboys-Eagles 2008 Monday night game while we were hanging around in the parking lot with our Luchadores Masks... I really think he will get the Quest very soon! Hope seeing you again dude! |

Scott &
Ray Pettengill - Bangor, ME My Father and I started a Fantasy Football team together back in 2005 called the "Katahdin Street Spidermen". We then decided it would be an awesome goal to take a Father/Son trip once a year to visit each NFL Stadium. Neither of us had ever been to an NFL game. The first year we went to Giants stadium in late October. It was an extremely cold, windy day. As we sat there, freezing our butts off, we said "Maybe we should tackle the warm stadiums first!" So, the next two years we went to San Diego and then Tampa Bay. This coming season, we will be going to FedEx field. (We already have our seats..front row endzone in the "Dream Seats" section baby!) When we aren't involved in football (which is not often!) I (Scott) work as a music teacher and my dad, (Ray) is retired. It has been an awesome experience so far and we hope to enjoy it for years to come. |

Randy,
Justin, and Sheri - Oceanside, CA I was excited to see others have our same goal! It will probably take us much more time than most, but we will get to all of the stadiums! We are now trying to hit two a year by coupling a Sunday game and a Monday night game together. Our first attempt at this didn't work out too well. We decided to go to Houston and Dallas. We arrived in Houston on Thursday and Hurricane Ike arrived on Friday ;-) We didn't get to Reliant Stadium but we did make it to the Cowboy game on Monday night. This year we are going to New York for Giants game on Sunday night and then over to see the Washington Redskins play on Monday night. Although Hawaii isn't one of the 31, we did include it as that is where the Pro Bowl had been for years and so was a staple of the NFL. |

Jason
Harrington - Roseville, MI It is really cool to see other people have the same goal in mind as I do. Mine started 2001 when I went to Chicago for the 49ers game. I am a huge 49er fan, so I try to get to those games first and foremost. I bought a game program from that game and thought it would be cool to visit every stadium and buy a game program from each. My typical stadium visit consists of showing up early and getting in when the gates open so I can get pictures. My best experience came in 2006 when we drove down to Florida, stopping in Atlanta for game, going to Miami the next week, and hitting up Tennessee on the way back home. At the Miami game, we got very lucky and was able to work the sidelines for ESPN, where I ended up meeting Steve Young. It will take some time to get to every stadium, but it will be worth it in the end. |

Brad & Brian -
Orange County, CA This is such a cool website and glad I came across it. My friend Brad and I started the quest for 31 in 2007. Brad is a Carolina Panthers fan and I'm a Denver Broncos fan. There is no better experience than going into a stadium and wearing the visitor's team jersey, especially walking through the parking lot and around tailgaters. We try to find different methods of transportation to each stadium. We have traveled by car, foot, bronco bus, light rail, water taxi and subway. There one thing that we must get at each stadium and take home with us. Can you guess? Its the Souvenir Soda cups. By the time we are done with this quest, we anticipate we will have been to over 31 NFL stadiums as teams may relocate or build a new one. Eventually we will make a Pro Bowl game in Hawaii and travel to a game in London and Toronto. |

Patrick Coughlin -
New York
My first road trip was in 1994. At the time, the only way to get Giants tickets was if you knew someone with season tickets or pay through the nose to a broker. I didn't know any season ticket holders back then, and wasn't willing to pay broker prices. So, I called ticketmaster in Philadelphia and was able to get 4 tickets for the Giants-Eagles game down there. Then in 1999, a good friend of mine got a job working for the Browns when they came back into the league. I went out there 4 times over the next 2 years to hang out with him and go to a game. He then got a job with the Dolphins and then the Eagles and had to go to games there, as well. Now, my wife and I take at least one road trip a year to see the Giants and we also have taken several trips to see the NY Rangers. Between Football, Hockey, Baseball, and Basketball, major, minor, and junior leagues, I have seen over 50 teams play a home game. |

Lisa & Rathan -
Seattle
Lisa and Rathan are both teachers who love football and the Seahawks. We would love to get to all 31 NFL cities and compare the stadiums and each game day experience. It all started when we going to be in NYC for New Year’s Eve in 2007. We happened to buy tickets to the Patriots vs. Giants game early in the year, and that ended up being the game Brady and Moss set individual season records, as the Patriots went 16-0. Another one of our favorite trips was during Thanksgiving of 2009. We first went to Dallas to see the Cowboys play the Raiders on Thanksgiving Day in the new stadium. Then it was off to Houston to see the Texans vs. the Colts. We finished up this amazing trip in New Orleans to see the Saints vs. Patriots on Monday Night Football. We can’t wait to see more stadiums, but are proud Seahawks season ticket holders, and definitely think Century Link is one of the best stadiums around, especially with the 12th Man going strong!. |

Charles
Stephenson - Virginia
I'm Charles Stephenson. I was glad to find the Quest for 31, which mirrors my goal of attending all the NFL stadiums (I also have the goal of attending every college Division 1A stadium - that's 151 stadiums in all! Check out my site http://fieldgoal.squarespace.com/). I grew up in Houston, Texas and have lived in Virginia since 1994, and follow the Redskins religiously. The first pro game I remember attending was Oilers/Packers in the Astrodome, in 1972 with my dad. Since then I've been to well over 100 pro football games, mostly Redskins games - I've been a season ticket holder since 1999 and have missed just 10 home games in the past twelve years. I've seen every NFL team play, but most were against the Redskins at RFK Stadium or Fedex Field. My wife and 3 kids are all big football fans and not only indulge my football fetish, but often travel with me to games. |

Michelle
Matter & Fernando Reyes - San Diego,CA
We started our best friends sport trips in 2007. As Padres and Chargers fans, we decided to take a trip every year to see our team play in another stadium. Our first trip was to Lambeau Field in September 2007. We flew into Chicago, saw a game at Wrigley Field, drove past Soldier Field and Miller Park, and eventually made it to Green Bay. In June 2008, we went to bid farewell to Shea Stadium and the Cathedral, Yankee Stadium. In December 2009, we went to Dallas to watch a game at the phenomenal Cowboys Stadium In September 2010 we watched the Padres play four games at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
