Stadium Review - The Asterisk Jacksonville Jaguars Stadium

Okay, I whole heartedly admit that this one does not count... it's a travesty that I even bother listing it. So, let me first say that I did not attend this game (I wish I had, as the Jags beat up on a rapidly downward spiraling Indianapolis Colts team) Instead, I passed through Jacksonville on the way to Tampa, and setup a tripod to get some great shots in the Alltel Stadium parking lot with Jeremy. I did however meet a local fan named Steve who promised to be my eyes and ears for the game ... until I can attend a game of my own here in Jacksonville of coarse (which I finally did in Nov.2007). Steve informed us that Jacksonville, FL is the "Tailgating Mecca of the South", technically my words, not Steve's ... I took it upon myself to employ some creative liberty. On game day, we're told that the parking lot next to Alltel Stadium is filled with the sights and sounds of Jacksonville Jaguars fans in full tailgating mode. I'm waiting for those pictures Steve and a full report ... Don't let us down.

A Message from Steve:
According to what I can gather, Steve and his tailgating crew did not disappoint. They left for the parking lot at around 9:30 am and prepared a pre-game feast, the likes of which I have never seen. According to Steve, 40 pounds of crawfish (flown in fresh from New Orleans) and 20 pounds of shrimp were mixed with several pounds of corn, potatoes, Broccoli, Italian sausage, smoked sausage, and LOTS of Cajun spice into a boil. When complete they had enough food to feed an army of anxious Jacksonville Jaguars fans ready to take on the vile archrival Indianapolis Colts. Steve reports that the first Jacksonville drive set the tone for the game as Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-drew set a Jacksonville rushing record for most yards in a game by half-time. The Jags would total 375 rushing yards for the day as they pounded the Indianapolis Colts by the score of 44 to 17. From what I can see, Jacksonville has earned my nickname and I hope to be invited to the next boil-bash.
